Advance TOFD Testing using Omni-Scan (CODE: AS103)

COURSE DESCRIPTION
|
|
The advance TOFD testing course provides the knowledge required to operate Omni scan equipment and perform encoded TOFD testing application on welds. The course covers theoretical aspects on TOFD application, its advantages and limitations, Application of TOFD per code requirements in lieu of Radiography - ASME code case 2235, B31.3 code case 181, API etc. The course also covers in-depth practical training using required accessories such as calibration blocks, validation samples, encoders, scanners etc. For this course we strongly recommend participants possess Level II or Level III certification in ultrasonic testing and good working knowledge and hands on practical experience in ultrasonic testing of welds. Our course structure and training is compiled based on the guidelines established in PCN/GEN Appendix C4 Issue 1 Rev D dated 1st January 2007. COURSE DURATION

10 Days (80 hours) of training including 1 Day Examination (Theory, Specific and Practical)
40% class-room training with power point presentation, lecture and Q&A.
60% hands-on practical on A-Star engineered weld flaw samples.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
|
|
Level II or III UT technician aspiring to acquire the proficiency in testing using encoded TOFD ultrasonic testing. This course provides access to employer’s based qualification and certification. Employers who would like to qualify their present conventional UT Level II or Level III to TOFD UT Level II as per employer’s written practice.
(We can also provide assistance to employers in establishing the written practice based on their requirements)

Completion of General, Specific and practical examinations with an aggregate average of 80%
